Here's one. Guy driving along all dressed up in his posh car. As he passes a well positioned car, which is about to turn right and is waiting for the traffic to clear, he notices the young lady driving it, the 'in his head' voiceover comes on and says:

"Good driver that girl, attractive too; such old world charm."

OK so it was an advert to promote good driving habits around the late fifties. What had happened previous to the narration?
