Re: rovers games / two games
Can I please enter this argument about who to support. Hedman2003, I am old enough to remember the final season with the demise of the old club. I can understand your argument that the new club was a non-league club whilst Rovers and Burnley were both football league clubs. I like you supported a club from outside the are, I could not bring myself to support Rovers or Burnley, but, and this is a big but, I was away in the Army for many years and finally left in 1986. That is when I came back to the Stanley fold, even though they were still non-league. I have ridden the roller coaster of many a Stanley season (and not all have been good). Now I live away from the area (Wigan) but I still come home and watch my hometown team, although I could, if I wanted, watch premiership football week in, week out. I cannot do it every week due to work commitments, but I get whenever I can. Ok so you have been a Rovers fan since 1975, that is your right and whilst I applaud you assisting our club as a 2nd team, I also respect your right to support whoever you want. Wynonie, I am sure you can't make all people from Accrington come and support the club, I wish we could, we may get a half decent ground out of it eventually, but the way I see it, I believe that Stanley are similar to Wigan Athletic and may just get the promotions that they have, maybe not Premier League for a few years, but why not live the dream n'est pas.BTW my brother is a Rovers fan and he was born in Accrington, but I have seen him on our ground on occasions. It's his choice.
