We do get some spectacular storms end of summer and in spring -it's with being near the Alps -sometimes we get massive hailstones too and the temperature will drop 10°C in a few minutes. Great thunder and lightening at the minute -feels sooooo good to be cool again after a few months of just hothothot!  :
