I do understand that sentiment, I have thought it myself sometimes.

I think I do consider my pictures more now that I used to....and certainly if the visit is a return one.

I frequently look at my pictures.....especially in winter when the days are a bit grey and dismal. It allows me to re-live the visits I have made.

As for internet research....I just look at places that I might like to visit.
Just to get a 'flavour' of the place...and I look at maps of how to get where I want to go. Strangely, once I have looked at a map I rarely need to refer to it again......I can picture it in my head(this only refers to street maps).
