The other day when you posted that pic of Bob by the waterfall I said it reminded me of a trip we made in Norway. Have just dug out a few photos from there.

We went on the Flam railway, very touristy, 20km-long train ride on one of the world's steepest railway lines on normal gauge. The gradient is 55/1000 on almost 80% of the line, i.e. a gradient of one in eighteen. It links the village of Flam at the top of a fjord with the main line to Bergen up in the mountains. We just went for the ride, there and back again.
  1. We're heading for the village at the end of this fjord
  2. The railway station in the village
  3. The train stops for a photo opportunity at this waterfall...
  4. And a maiden comes to serenade you...
  5. And another...
  6. The train guards looked as though they might be more at home in Communist Russia
  7. Road with hairpin bends following a stream and waterfall. The train is heading up to the flat bit in the top centre
  8. View looking down from a bridge. You can see a tunnel mouth right in the centre of the picture
  9. View heading back down the valley towards Flam
  10. Flam church
thats some impressive waterfall, not sure if the warbling woman enhances the experience, but I guess you had to be there.
