So I've been reading a few threads discussing a whole range of misdemeanours and the just desserts that the perpetrators deserve, and the question arose whether there's a difference between vengeance, albeit on behalf of society, and justice.
I find it difficult to dissociate my own emotions from certain criminal cases especially those involving children and wonder if I am alone in this. Media hype does not help, so I wonder, do we get the justice we think we deserve as citizens, or the vengeance that assuages our baser selves' anger?
