The only time I considered MREs to be acceptable was when the Saudi Air Force discovered the Scrambled Eggs with Ham and Spam Chunks - I was asked to get rid of it all, some 20 or so cases. IMHO they were no where near as good as Compo or Aircrew Survival Rations
