2012 Prediction League - Just for Fun; Game 5 v Oxford Utd (FA Cup Round 2 Replay) – away

Since the first game – the famous 3-3 draw – we’ve each played once; our venture was today, losing to a single goal from “stocky” (snigger!

) Billy Kee at the Pirelli; Oxford’s game was yesterday, at home to struggling Aldershot, and having taken a 33rd minute lead from 23 year-old MF Adam Chapman – the MoM when they beat York in the BSP Playoff Final in May 2010 – they couldn’t hold on, and shipped an equaliser with a handful of minutes left ….

So; they’re now 18th in League 2, with 25 points from 21 games, against our 17th with 26 points from 21; we even have the same goal difference (which is -6, if you needed to know ……………

) At home they’re W5 D3 L3 F19 A14; away, we’re W4 D3 L4 F15 A17 …….. pretty similar, really ……….

They lost John-Paul Pittman (shoulder) and Andrew Whing (ankle and knee) – both long term, sadly - during the first game; Tom Craddock came back, though – a 56th minute sub, and Damien Batt was fit to play as well…….they did, though, lose MF Simon Heslop (a 61st minute sub), who saw red in the last minute for a professional foul, so he won’t be playing against us!

Only for fun, this, as you know; deadline for entries is 7.45pm this Wednesday, 12th December. The question is still, it seems to me, is ………Can we beat the Blades?

And the answer is – of course we can!
