The reason we got so much beer at Dutton's was because of the Union .... I know, I know

... when they partially automated the plant the Union insisted that the beer allowance stay the same. In the malt store where I mainly worked, three of us got the allowance for 15 men

And the charge hand ... I think he was called Tommy O'Rourke, the only tea-total Irishman in history ... didn't drink

Guys who didn't get as much as us usually helped us out;

but, if they didn't, we used to have to pour beer away

... good beer, too; the middle of the brew.
