Just checked James's record on 1891 census and he is indeed living at 46 Canning street with his wife and 7 kids aged between 19 and 3!! He is working as a labourer at an iron works. So it looks like he ventured into a new career shortly afterwards. Sorry to detract from your beer and pop... but I suppose every industry has a human story!! Thanks again.
