It's just that they are SOooo annoying, open a window in come the flies, then, what do they try to do?
get outside again beating their heads against the glass even though the window is still open!
The stupid sods can't remember the way out, they then fly around the room land on us asking for directions but we can't be bothered to show them the way out.
It's our fault, we opened the window, the fly took it as an invite, when it gets bored and wants to leave we should treat our guests with manners, hit them with a newspaper and throw their disintegrated remains out the way they came in.

If it stops one fly from getting into the kitchen, and putting its dirty feet on the food preparation surfaces, then its working for me, you can't cover every thing to stop flies contaminating.
Dead flies outside are better, 1000's of dead flies better still. Incy Wincy will have to change his diet in our area.
