Gremlin, I have had more than my fair share of benefits over the years, the benefits system is what has kept me going for years, not everyone who is on benefits is a scrounger though, I was a single parent, it isn't as much fun as you think relying on the state, for the last 5 years I have been applying for job after job, it isn't as easy these days to just walk into a job, a firm has maybe 2 jobs going and 200 applicants for the same job, if your cv doesn't stand out immediately to them then they don't even bother reading it, they bin it, the amount of cv's I have sent out over the years is unreal, being on the dole I have to apply for 15 jobs a week, I have to do all this online and have hard proof that I have done it so there is no trying to bluff the system by pretending you have applied for jobs or making jobs up, I was very lucky in my teens, I could walk straight from one job into another, often stop working for one one day and have a fresh job the day after, you just can't do that now, so please think on when you think all who are on benefits are scroungers, most aren't
