Cats were once worshipped as gods. Cats have never forgotten this.
And here I am, eating breakfast on my front porch, sharing my bacon with Toby (he owns my neighbour) ... he likes his bacon with maple syrup.
Life seems so much easier to handle when one shares it with animals: my dogs, my cats, Iggy the squirrel, and Raquel and Arbuckle the coons. A couple of nights ago, a young skunk crept onto the porch to munch on the food I put out for the strays. I sat VERY quietly. It ate and left without spraying. The smell of cat pee can't compete with skunk.
If it becomes a regular, I'll have to come up with a name. Just hope that a cat or a coon doesn't come along and startle it.
