I work on the principle that if it looks alright, smells alright and tastes alright, then I don't bother what the sell by date is.......isn't that why we have a sense of taste and smell?

Maybe I'll just keep on throwing the mouldier stuff to the squirrels ... they don't seem to mind it. By the way, if I am not being a pain in the proverbial, the squirrels are getting fat; could you share you fav. recipes for cooking them.
