My understanding is as follows
1) It is legal for someone at the age of 16 to purchase and consume beer or cider to go with a meal, in a restaurant or in a pub which has a designated area for eating.
2) The minimum legal age for consumption of alcohol at home is 4 (Yes, Four)
3) Because of 2), above, there is some confusion about the legality of children drinking in a pub beer garden.

Which is the only well known spirit, which by law does not have to be served in a standard measure?
