Granted. Even the Crosman, that pump-gun of my youth, would penetrate a few centimetres of wood only at close range after ten pumps. The effect on a milk-bottle was interesting - a hole on both sides and the bottle left standing. What puzzles is the reported two or three millimetre holes in the target. The .22 inch pellet or bullet would leave a larger entry.
