See 'Old Homesteads of Accrington & District' by Ainsworth (1928) 7 pages & a pic......'Cowhil' is an eminence situate in the midst of Rishton township.....grey old Tudor buildings...similar in appearance to Higher Antley Hall, it has a long block with two-storeyed porch......home of the Hindle family...' Plenty on the families but not on the buildings.
