I (personally) wouldn't go through the ordeal of a court appearance (and the digging into my background that would go on to determine if I was of good character, reliable and honest) for all the money in the world.

If these women are telling the truth(which the jury doubted) then they have been forced to relive the traumatic expereinces that they have had burried in the back of their minds for four decades.

When bad experiences happen to you, a coping mechanism is to compartmentalise the incident - to lock it away and not visit it again. It is the way the mind deals with such things...so that the incident doesn't drive you mad.
The only people who know the truth are the perpetrators and the alleged victims.

If Bill Roache did do these things then his belief system is that he will pay for it in his next life...this is a bit late for the alleged victims.

I think that some men can sense who they can try it on with.....and maybe they do, and get away with it. Younger girls may not have the confidence to do something about it.

What is absolutely certain is that these trials do sexual abuse vistims no favours at all. They make the victims much less likely to report incidents because they know that unless there is some physical evidence, it is a case of one persons word against that of another.
