I think Jewish mothers have a bigger role/say in how their children are brought up. I don't think boys are put on a pedestal and girls to be seen but not heard. I think those vile activities by some groups of men would be looked down on as extremely shameful in the Jewish community. I think the young people give more than a token nod to the religion they were born in to.
