That row of terraced houses doesn't belong to the council so I'm wondering if it's anything to do with Project Phoenix or the general grants and upgradings that were on the go when they did up whole batches such as Ormerod Street and Primrose Street and very kindly missed me out in between in Willows Lane! 
Went down Bolton Avenue not long ago and I was surprised how awful it looks now. When I was at Peel Park a friend of mine used ot live on Ambleside Close and it all looked very nice in those days with the shops opposite and the little "rec".
