The lack of viewfinders is a big problem with the compact cameras, especially with the sun behind you.
The Olympus DSLR I just sent to Moffat Golf Club lacked one but the electronic viewfinder I had for it clipped on to the hotshoe and made connection so it then had a proper viewfinder.
It was a rip off really, the electronic viewfinder added about £150 extra to the camera.
At least I didn't have to hold the camera at arms length and squint into the screen.
