For all Photoscape users, there is an update that gives more options, brush size addition and a few more bells and whistles I have yet to play with.

Thanks. Hopefully will manage to "get" the technique through both explanations - will give it a try later. The programme does keep asking me if I want to update it but I wondered if it was worth it or not - sometimes they take forever to do it for only minor changes.
