I know someone who just this weekend borrowed a monitor because their bill was so high in their new house, using 10KW overnight when everything off except fridge freezer, turns out there was an immersion heater on they didn`t even know they had. Now turned off, big saving.
I don't have that problem, for about the last 10 years if I switch the immersion heater on it trips the breaker.
