Lettie - where did you get all these from? NOT personal experience, I trust.

Reminded me of two things -

One of my colleagues, after a drunken day at the races (Goodwood, office do), after getting back into London on the organised coach, set off to go home to Camberwell. Some hours later, he woke up on Sheerness Beach. He has no idea how he got there at all.

Years before, lost a university friend after a very heavy party, no sign of him for two days. When he finally surfaced, we asked him what had happened. He said he had fallen asleep on the way home and woken up in Sheffield. When we pointed out that he actually lived in Chalk Farm in North London, he said "I think I must have changed at Kings Cross".

Never done that, either.
