Re: Today in pictures
Today in Pictures, a wet experience from start to finish, drizzle, the one that really wets you, was present all through our expedition.
1. A farmer sets off to feed the turbines.
2. Oak Gall, a result of the gall wasp inserting its egg in the plants bud, the result is the tree protects itself by forming the gall, and in doing so protects the wasp from predators.
3. Despite the weather the place is packed.
4. The overflow from what was the top reservoir as it feeds into Jackhouse.
5. The stream that feeds the overflow, which in turn feeds the reservoir.
6. Another tributary to the stream that feeds the stream that feeds.........you get the gist.
7. If it stands still for any length of time it gets a coating of moss and lichens.
8. I just put that wood there to get my camera out.
9. The central island that is sanctuary for the wildlife, and nesting ground for some of the birds.
10. The stream that fed the main stream that went over the overflow, into jackhouse comes out here, it now heads for Oswaldtwistle but that is another story.
