Nothing silly about trying to get cash in up front. So if Cashy (say - other old gits are available
) lives to a hundred
and Stanley stay in the FL with admission around £20 he'll be quids in and the club quids out,
eventually, but if something causes him to stop attending - say he falls (further) out with the manager and takes his business elsewhere, that'll be £1000 quid to help us get through the summer that we wouldn't get otherwise.
Obviously you're right about the younger generation, but the two aren't mutually exclusive (unless home gates goes up to 5000, in which case who cares
).
