Thank you Rowlf.......of course it isn't too late. After all if I lived in the USA, it would still be early afternoon.
I have had a damn fine day......A large piece of cake...... a good armful of Books(all very much to my taste)....some bath stuff(always welcome) a pot of miniature roses.
But the very best gift of all is to have the good wishes of friends and family.....these are beyond price.
