I support the idea of a Head of State who stands ABOVE the cut and thrust of political arguments. It gives a stability and permanence to our whole political process.

I hate the obsequious, crawling approach of ANYONE brown nosing around the Royals - mainly Royal Correspondents.

William and Kate are NOT just like any other young couple. George is NOT just like any other toddler. Charlotte is NOT just like any little girl. And together, the LAST way to describe them is 'Just like any other young family'. They represent the ULTIMATE in privilege.

But that is what we get.

I admire the Queen, not for her privilege, but in the way she has handled herself. She is just a little old lady given a thankless task.

Prince Philip provides plenty of entertainment as a pompous buffoon always putting his foot in it.

Which probably is his biggest contribution to the ongoing popularity of the monarchy.
