Why not try and modernize your browsing instead?
Instead of going back & forth, hold Ctrl when clicking on the link for a thread and open it in a new tab, that way you do not need to go back, you can go through the list of new posts and open them in new tabs and read, closing the tab when you have finished.
This is why we have tabbed browsers.
