Well, my Accrington man and me have been married 59 years today. Not sure where the years have gone but they have! Slightly different weather then and now – today in South Australia it’s around 35 C, but on February 23rd 1957 in Lancashire it was very, very cold. There was snow, ice and sleet.

As a matter-of-fact when the wedding car went to collect the bridegroom-to-be the windscreen wipers kept getting stuck and the driver had to manually and regularly wipe the snow and ice off the glass. Wasn’t sure if he could make it to the church safely – his nibs says he should have taken this as an omen. Cheeky b…..
