school fish pie, mushy peas that were as hard as the marbles you played with and mashed poatoes that always contained lumps that tasted underdone. the only plus side were the sweets. jam rolly poly. spotted dick and the school custard. school dinners must have been the first part of the national corriculum as they sounded as bad in accy as they were in the north east.
