FA to Investigate Roy Carroll incident.
The Football Association is to investigate after Manchester United keeper Roy Carroll was hit by a coin during the FA Cup win at Everton. Carroll was felled after being hit in the 70th minute of Saturday's match, although he was able to continue.
Spokesman Adrian Bevington confirmed that the FA was speaking to Everton and to Merseyside Police.
Roy Carroll said " I tried to catch the coin but it bounced off my arm".
Alex Ferguson said it wasnt Carroll fault that he is hated by most of the country and throwing things at him was something he will have to get used to untill we can buy another keeper.
Police confirmed the coin came from an Everton surporter as only a scouse would carry money in mersyside and they are looking for the 10 surporters who ran on to the pitch at the end of the game to look for the coin," they may be able to help as not many Evertonians know what a pound coin looks like.
Asked after the game a few die hard Manure surporters said it was a disgrace and they would not travel all the way from London in there new away away away away FACup strips to watch that "whats his name in goal" get blatently fouled by a coin and not be given a free kick or penalty.
