Re: Notts County for die hard away fans?

Right, that's it. Off to Ladbrokes in the morning to bet my house, battered old car and bicycle on a Stanley promotion. Our defence is just so good. When the outfield finally clicks we will be unbeatable.

Apologies, but this is typed on the cattle truck from Sheffield to Manchester. Inebriation levels are high. Mine included. If I wax too lyrical about matters defensive, or a surge that takes us to the pinnacle of European glory you'll know why.

Today was easy in so far as if County fluked a goal (which they never looked like doing) we'd get another. Easily. We should have had plenty more in any case. Loads of chances came and went throughout the game.

Who were the stars? Coleman obviously. Clark is impressive when he gets the ball. Brown did well but I was pleased when Hewitt replaced him as he faded. McConville was hit and miss, Kee ditto. Seamus was better today - predictably, now that Brown is there to provide the steel he lacks. However, The entire defence is just such a solid unit. No one needs special mention and that's how you win stuff.

I thought Coleman got the tactics spot on. Sit back and let a rubbish team attack and take them on the break. Or I hope that's what his tactics were - or maybe we just weren't strong enough in midfield (again) to have complete control. Whatever.

A minutes' applause for one of their departed fans took place as planned. The only time County made any noise at all. The Stanley fans, boisterous but melodious throughout, sang his name as well. Reciprocated by silence.

Nice touch at the end. Coleman, Boco, Kee and Beckles giving big hugs to the away faithful.

I'm missing the next home match, to much disappointment. At least I can be absent in the comforting knowledge that we won't we shipping any goals. An era of invincibility beckons.
