Re: Watch repair/rebuild

My brother used to do a it of wheeling and dealing....a bit of trading bits of old tat.
He once got a joblot of junk jewellery with a solitaire diamond ring...except the diamond was a CZ.
Ma took a shine to it(she said she wasn't fit for a real diamond).
Our John gave it to her and she treasured it. To be fair it looked good on her.
Last year John died suddenly and at about the same time the stone fell out of the ring.
Ma was really upset.
I went to get it fixed....to have the stone reset. I met some really sneery people.
In the end I got the guy on Peel St to fix it. He said the stone was very scratched....So I had a new one put in and told Ma he had polished the scratches out of the stone.
She was made up.
It is the only thing that she had to connect her to our John. It was important to her.
So I understand how you feel Boxermum.
