Screw it to the frame and it twists like shown to overhang and tighten up onto the window/door,made of solid metal but looks plastic and quite neat. Overhang is about 1inch. Key is positioning and good fit/hold.They do a key locking one as well bit fiddly though.
Will add lot of extra resisdence to forced entry.
