Re: Club receives fine
Whilst I can understand the frustration.....the fact remains that a new directive was ushered in by the powers that be...... before a ball was kicked this season....that being.....show dissent towards the officials and punishments will be administered.....
The legend...... Brian Clough .........actually fined his own players for arguing with officials....
Maybe the management could take that ethos into consideration. In 40 years of watching football...I'm yet to see a referee change his mind following the protests of the aggrieved !!!
Yes..... we continue to suffer at the hands of totally inept officialdom that has cost this club a hell of a lot of points and a financial fortune in the last 12 months....most specifically...... the clown Trevor Kettle with his decision to disallow the goal at Wimbledon last season.
As instant video replays are not possible at our level......surely retrospective video evidence should be able to carry the weight of the argument.....however in this instance..... I can't understand why the red card is rescinded yet the club (or players involved ) are retrospectively fined for their "conduct" ???
As others have already said....whilst I understand referees and lines-persons can make mistakes.....why oh why..... when they are found to be culpable for a "mistake" that that has a significant impact on a game... a result...or even a season....(as we found to our cost last year ) are tougher reprimands / punishments not issued to the officials ???? Kettle is still officiating as far as I'm aware !!!! I wouldn't let that clown loose near kids football !!!
