Neil, it is what they
choose to do. no-one forces them to put themselves up for election.
If you are going to serve your community then you research what the job entails before you seek election and if you don't them more fool you.
If they feel that they are not getting a fair deal in regards to expenses then they have the option of quitting and not seeking re-election.
Some people are just not up the job.
