RIP Denis Faud

T'was only in this weeks Observer obits, I saw that Denis had passed.

I first knew him in the 70's, when we both worked in the same industry (fitted kitchens). We had a special attachment, as, although our surnames were spelt differently, they were pronounced the same.

We lost touch for years, & then I used to see him propping up a barrier on the Clayton end, before, due to mobility problems, I had to 'defect' to the main stand seating area.

It was only earlier this season, as I was walking to my Jack Barrett stand seat, that our paths crossed, & we exchanged a good few minutes of conversation about the old days.

Little did I know then that this was our last conversation.

RIP Denis, & condolences to your loved ones.
