In no way have I ever intended and can see no reason why I should ever intend to insinuate that Margaret is a liar .

Margaret said , " I voted not to join in 1975."
Margaret did not vote not to join in 1975 .
We were in no position to vote in such a way because we had already joined on the 1st of January 1973 .
The 1975 referendum asked "Do you think that the United Kingdom should stay in the European Community (the Common Market)?"
