Re: Dorothy Duxbury B.E.M.
Margaret your poems are beautiful. I am sure they have been a comfort to your family.
When my dad passed away a Commodore in the Royal Navy sent me the following poem which gave me comfort. Mt dad had been in the navy.
What is dying?
A ship sail and I stand watching till she fades on the horizon
and someone by my side says 'She is gone'. Gone where ?
Gone from my sight that is all. She is just as large as when I saw her.
The dimimished size and total loss of sight is in me not in her
And just at that moment when someone says 'She is gone.'
There are others who are watching her coming and other voices
take up the glad shout 'There she comes'
And that is dying.
Not as personal as your verses but the same sentiment.
