Now last year their where flocks of the bu**ers up here and not a lot of ow't else, this year I've only one or two magpies. Sparrows have declined nationally over the last few years but are beginning to make a come back. Lapwings where thin on the ground a few years back but are doing well now. Someone said recently that their was an increase in moggies taking birds but surly that can't account for the low numbers. The one thing I remember from my childhood up Miller Fold was the sound of Sky Larks in Brindles field. A sound I've heard once in the last four or five years and that were in the Lakes.
