Re: Gym
I'm with the Hyndburn Healthy Heart team (think that's the name) and it's one of them who does the gym session. There are a lot of little off-shoots from a ten week course on healthier living (from a heart point of view mainly) and one of the things I've done which is supposed to eventually produce fresh fruit and veg for us is get an allotment plot. Not a whole allotment, just a little plot in a communal one. Then there's a walking group but I haven't joined that yet because I don't do "out in the snow".
I joined the gym bit because I want to improve my overall fitness (which at present is abysmal) as well as lose weight and this was one of their suggested ways of doing so. It's donkey's ages since I went to a gym - before my eldest daughter was born and she'll be 14 this year. I used to be fit and active but following a lengthy period of illness it all went to pot.
Hopefull this is the start of a new trend. If A-b can give up smoking I can give up not being fit!
