Re: 2019/20 Prediction League; Game 14 v Ipswich Town (home)

A Good Day for Me, and the Cock-eyed Optimists

I have to confess that, apart from remembering to drink my morning coffee from my Stanley mug, I didn't give yesterday's game a thought until it was long over. At kickoff, I was about two-thirds of the way through the Great South Run down here in Pompey. All went well, I was having a great day, so when I remembered the match and went to check the result I was pretty sure my luck would change, and it did - only one point for my predicted Desmond . But 3 points for Stanley - who saw that coming .

Well nobody , in as much as there were no maxis collected. But 11 of you predicted a Stanley win , against 5 drawmongers and 9 deserters, and 10 of those 11 also got a bonus point for the 2 or the 0, the honourable exception being Wynonie's 4-2. 8 of last week's Top Ten were pointless , meaning Smudgie moved from 6= to 5th, Accymad from 10th to 6=, and Accytom18 and Mike A from 12= to 9=, relegating Stanley Josh and StevieR from the elite for the time being.

Elsewhere, the average gain for the others picking up 4 points was around 3 places .

Now, although I love superstitions , there's no way I'm going to be able to run 10 miles with 20000 other people every time Stanley play. More likely is that we can persuade Kiwi John to sleep through the games , as that seems to work - indeed this time he seems to have slept through his timeslot for making a prediction too. Also unexpectedly missing was Cashy - hopefully I haven't missed a PM from either of you two?

Whatever, it's now roll on the Posh. Just like Ipswich, an East Anglian side having a pretty good season - so a result just like against Ipswich will go down very nicely, don't you think?

On Stanley On!!
