Returning once again to the original observation, I had a queen wasp in my kitchen this afternoon, busily hunting for a nesting site around the plant pots on the windowsill. The soil has not warmed up sufficiently for the nest of ground bees on the side garden to become active but I'm keeping an eye on the spot.
