Oh dear, Cashie, you write that Voltaire wasn’t that bright. Sorry but I can’t let that statement go unchallenged. I’m sure you will know who Voltaire was (1694-1778) but in case you don’t here’s a very brief history for you. He was an historian and a philosopher. He was a prolific writer, writing more than 20,000 letters and 2,000 books and pamphlets.
He advocated freedom of speech, freedom of religion, amongst other things. He was not afraid to criticise the government for which he was sent to prison.
Not very bright? – methinks you do the man a great injustice….but then, we ARE all entitled to our own opinions.
