'Chav'- the original meaning of the word is either someone from Chatham in Kent, or is derived from the Romany word for boy charvo. It's recent meaning of the word, [similar to ned, townie, scallie,] is used to describe a designer baseball cap wearing boy or girl.
Perhaps if Accy was full of chavs, we can expect to see Burberry opening here soon instead of Next, and see Chav Queen Danielle Westbrook pushing her pram through the Market Hall.
Totally agree with our Chav, extortionate business council tax rates mean Accrington is an unattractive option, hence the new and old empty shops.
