Marge, I grow up to 30 sprout plants every year on my allotment but only because Hazel loves them; when you mention "can you really have sprouts that are rare", then yes you can, I can not stand them cooked but I do eat them uncooked which is as rare as you can have them. Sprouts are only a variety of Cabbage that has multiple heads, (sprouts), if eated raw they simply taste like a solid/ ball headed Cabbage, my mates reckon that I have lost my marbles eating them raw but every one to their own.
