Blogs aren't really that bad. I trawl through a good dozen on a near-daily basis, I've tried running one before and my housemate is utterly addicted to hers. I usually find most of them fairly interesting, the only real drawback being the sub-culture of hardcore users who keep trying to get it recognised as 'real' journalism. Sorry, but three thousand words about how depressed you are, how much of an idiot Bush is and what your cat did today is *not* journalism.
Think of it as basically your soapbox to talk about whatever you feel like on the internet.
