Few Points Scored, but Seismic Shift in the B Hive

Four fencesitters did OK, but only AndyD did maxi OK. 5 points gave him a leg-up in the lower reaches of the table, up from 21st to 17th. Of the 3-pointers , Lord Stiffy jumped from 15th to 12th, but Taypot didn't make progress from 8th, though he did close the gap on most of those ahead of him.

But not on Ange B, for whom 3 points meant climbing from 6th to 4th, overtaking Cashy and - oops - Nige B, with only count-back keeping her off the podium.

Or to be more accurate, countback and the single point Mike A gathered by forecasting a clean sheet for Toby. Four more of us managed the same point for the same reason, but it wasn't enough to save Cashy and I from dropping a place each, or to produce any place gain for Ossy Kid and Tommy McQueen.

So with 3 games to go, and 15 points to play for, Shurm maintains a 1 point lead over Stevie R at the top of the heap, with Mike and Ange 3 points further back, and Nige and Cashy in close pursuit (Cashy on 80 to Shurm's 86). Tommy McQ in 11th is the worst-placed-still-arithmetically-possible winner. But this one won't be over till it's over .

And so the Reds roll on to the Trotters for a proper Bank Holiday Lancs derby, with an outside chance of landing another double, if only we can find the way to the back of the net again ......
