Supermarkets in Australia are hurriedly removing toxic baby spinach from their shelves. Yes, some spinach is so toxic it is making people very ill, suffering from rapid heartbeats, fever, blurred vision, hallucinations, and so on. As well as spinach some salad mix has also been recalled. We just assume the food we buy is ok to eat but that’s not always the case. Apparently the most feasible explanation for this toxicity is that the produce has been contaminated by a weed…..I bet that wouldn’t happen on our friend’s allotment.
